A Week to Go

I've developed quite a taste for concerts by now with two under my belt, and the third is only a week away. Yes, I am seeing Dark Tranquillity next Sunday at Tavastia, which should be quite a blast. I've never been to a club concert before, and you don't get a more legendary club than Tavastia in Finland.

My hopes of being included in the setlist:
Misery's Crown
Terminus (Where Death is Most Alive)
The Treason Wall
Damage Done
Final Resistance
The Gallery
My Negation
Hours Passed in Exile
Monochromatic Stains
Icipher
Empty Me
Punish My Heaven

There are of course four albums which I've never listened to (being Skydancer, Projector, The Mind's I, and Haven), and I'm sure there are some good songs on them too. But all four albums I do have will be on constant rotation for the rest of this week.

I can't wait for it; the feeling I get at a concert is simply unique. It's a bit like being drunk except more fun, and the after-effects are good and not bad. That crazy adrenaline rush, the headbanging, singing along, that feeling of fellowhip of metalheads, the sheer feeling of being in a very loud and aggressive heaven. And the after-effects are also great; that adrenaline lasts until the next morning at the very least (you wake up completely energetic and awake), the songs play over in your head the whole day, and you have a crazy desire to headbang to the sheer memory of those songs. Absolutely nothing can go wrong in the following week, and if it does, you don't give a shit because you're too happy to care. Hell, who needs sex, drugs, or booze, when you've got metal?

[And yes, some swearing was needed to get the point across.]

We all know the last time you got drunk the "after effects" were far from good :D :D :D

Heehehee, you're never going to hear the end of that one either, nope, no siree.

I recall telling only Tony about that particular episode, and I have a strong feeling you got an exaggerated version from him... You've laughed at me in the past for this, and I've never understood it, because it wasn't all that serious; it never occured to me before that of course you heard it from Tony (credibility somewhere in the zone of -50%) :D

But I stand by what I said; you don't need booze when you've got live metal.

True and true, though I suppose Tony didn't tell you that I did have a plastic bag... And the "grounding" was just for a week, though I wouldn't use that term.
